برف ۾، خاندان سان!

Prepare for it as a family!

We can never say it enough. Good physical preparation, for young and old alike, is essential before setting off on the slopes. The body must be ready to face descents, turns and other bumps … for the most gifted!

For that, no secret: you have to think about building your legs, making your joints more flexible and working on your balance before setting off. But before embarking on too complicated exercises – especially for children – based on jogging or intensive mountain biking (even if it’s excellent!), First focus on simple activities, accessible to the whole family. Walking, climbing and descending stairs, swimming (for endurance) … not to mention small gymnastics sessions, which are the most beneficial! Be careful, however, with young children: do not force too much, it is good to respect everyone’s abilities …

Fashion victims on the slopes!

The equipment side should not be neglected either even if, it is true, you will always find what you need in the ski resorts (although a little more expensive perhaps…). So there is no question of doing your fitting sessions the day before departure. In one year, your child will have grown up and it is not so sure that their ski clothing will always fit.

Take the time to take stock of what he has and what he can – or wants! – put on, because often, even if his thick socks and warm sweaters can still be used, his gloves may now be too tight or he finds his hat a little old-fashioned! We will have to invest …

Everyone knows it: snow holidays are a real budget. So, in order not to regret your purchases once on the slopes, the golden rule is to favor quality clothes and accessories, to the extent – of course – of your budget …

For children, it is better to opt for a ski suit (to prevent cold air from entering between the pants and the anorak), warm clothes (that is natural!), Waterproof gloves (in which your toddler will have room to move his fingers), scarf, après-ski… you have to think of everything, while taking care not to favor the fashion side over the safety side.

We understand them, children also want to be “trendy” on the slopes, but it is up to you to decide what to buy. The most telling example is surely that of sunglasses, essential for young and old because of the very strong reverberation of ultraviolet rays on the snow. They must first be adapted to the mountains, with enveloping frames, UV filter, all NF certified. And so much the better if they are “design”, but that should not be your first criterion of purchase, at the risk of choosing an ineffective model, even dangerous for the eyes …

And if, through friends or relatives, you have the possibility of lending you ski clothes for your child, take advantage of it!
