In a few days, it’s (finally) Christmas! I like this period. This is the time of the year when I think back to my childhood the most. This little bit of nostalgia does me a lot of good. I tell myself that this is where we are most impatient when we are a kid. Parents also let go. They relax. They give up their role of super parents which they take very seriously the rest of the year. They simply want to please. Toddlers know it and they play with it. This two-beat waltz radiates incredible energy and brings families together. Think about how to please. This really is Christmas for me.
And this year again, a little air of the past hangs over the toy shelves. Remember, we know them, we played them. Small (and large) wonders are regularly reborn. I think we all have in mind THE portable plastic record player. Who did not have a pram with big wheels, very seventies, to walk his favorite doll?
Two pretty brands have long adopted the DNA of the Vintage trend that we love. Moulin Roty et Bianca and Family. And I came across some very beautiful things quite in the spirit we want, like a super pretty old spinning top, a wooden alphabet, an old-fashioned dinette and its battery of pots, metal frying pans, perfect replicas of old models.
All these toys can be easily diverted into decorative objects in a child’s room. Like his finds: a bright red vespa from yesteryear, which is sure to please your child fans of mechanical vehicles. A retro airplane, a wooden rocking horse, a trunk with the knitting kit, an adorable wooden stove to play mom like we used to find. Come on, I’ll be silent and make way for the images to give you ideas and make this Christmas an unforgettable moment of celebration with your children!
