After winter, when the sun is gradually coming, we start to worry about the condition of our skin. Both the face and the whole body require our thorough care and regeneration after winter frosts, air-conditioned, heated rooms and weather conditions that dry the skin. Take care of yourself in the spring to enjoy a radiant and smooth complexion in the summer!

Gray and sallow complexion after winter, when we have little to do with the sun’s rays, as well as dry skin, are the most common problems before the coming summer. Unfortunately, in winter it is also easy to get deficiencies of minerals and vitamins.

Peels and light moisturizing creams

After the winter period, the natural renewal of the epidermis is significantly weakened. That is why we so often deal with gray, tired and stale-looking skin. It will be necessary to exfoliate and remove the calloused epidermis by peeling – it is best to do them once or twice a week. It will work both for the skin on the face (milder types of peelings) and for the skin of the whole body (dry elbows, knees, heels …). It is best to use scrubs containing natural ingredients, such as almond or nut particles. In the spring, those containing citrus fruit extracts are also recommended.

Heavy and greasy creams that are recommended in winter will not work in spring and summer. During this period, you should focus on what is light, moisturizing and regenerating. For people with combination skin, i.e. dry in some places and oily, e.g. in the T zone, they will be good moisturizing creams with matting effect.

Masks and skin tone

Of course, one cannot forget about the beneficial effects of masks, especially those with a regenerating effect. Their task is to support and stimulate cell renewal. They bring quickly visible results. You can reach for drugstore, ready-made masks, or you can prepare it yourself, e.g.

  • Banana Mask: Mash and mix a banana with a few drops of olive oil. Leave it for 10-20 minutes, then wash it off with boiled water.

If you want a golden, slightly tanned complexion, which is difficult to get right after winter, you can use a self-tanner (however, remember to peel beforehand and spread the preparation thoroughly, evenly, so as not to make “stains”), or toning creams that improve skin tone. Currently, natural creams containing cocoa or coffee extract are available in stores, which gently and less noticeably than self-tanner give the skin color and glow.

When you bet on a natural tan and intend to catch the first rays of the sun, don’t forget about sunscreen – for the body and face. Do not stay in the sun for too long and during peak hours. Thanks to this, you will avoid the unpleasant effects of tanning, such as faster skin aging, sunburn and the risk of cancer.
